It’s time to be greener, more sustainable, and better equipped
Sustainability starts with purchasing
We see it as our duty not only to equip our customers for the future, but also to make sure that we have a future in which we can work and live well. This why we pay close attention to which products we include in our range, how these are manufactured and who delivers them for us. For us, sustainable purchasing also means continuously expanding our range of products that save energy, conserve resources and are environmentally friendly, both during manufacture and usage.

How you can recognise green at first glance in our product range
Most of our natural resources are limited and non-renewable. Consuming fewer raw materials and other materials is a key part of the effort to make our world more liveable, both for ourselves and future generations. So we don’t purchase any “one-day wonders”; instead, we choose products produced in a way that conserves resources and that can continue to be used over the long term. Because the higher the demand, the greater the incentive to incorporate more products of this type into our range.
We use activeGREEN to denote products that fulfil particularly rigorous sustainability criteria and are carbon offset, for example. These can be our own-brand products or those from another manufacturer. We make it easy for you to recognise green at first glance – and to buy from us.

Where we do our own thing
Whatever you need, we can make it happen. Because we think everyone deserves extra-special – whether that be special designs or colours, special dimensions or special equipment. In our kaiserkraft production facility in Haan near Düsseldorf, we develop and manufacture many of our EUROKRAFT products ourselves according to the highest quality and sustainability standards.
Sustainability plays an important role in our painting processes, too. We continually assess and optimise the methods, as well as the resources, that we use. For example, instead of using wet paint, we apply powder coating, which is better for the environment as it doesn't contain solvents. In addition, the powder coating is cured at a low temperature, thereby conserving valuable energy.
190 °C: the low temperature at which we cure our powder coatings. By the way, only 0.1% of the own-brand items we sell are the subject of customer complaints. This is significantly below the industry average.

Why what we offer can take a little longer, but lasts practically forever
Quality pays. And because part of what defines quality is longevity, we make sure to offer products with long guarantees. This helps to build customer trust, but also has other important effects: products with long guarantees benefit consumers across the product lifespan, reduce waste and are thus a sign of a high-quality manufacturer.
We also offer outstanding guarantees on products from our own brands EUROKRAFTpro and EUROKRAFTbasic: three years for EUROKRAFTbasic and at least ten years for EUROKRAFTpro. Both of these are above the legal minimum.
Our genuine spare parts are manufactured using the latest production techniques, meaning that they provide high quality, a precise fit and long-term safety over their entire service life. Our parts are delivered to you fast and are quick to install.

How we get from A to B and where the journey begins
EcoVadis and the Suppliers’ Code of Conduct
How can we make supply chains more sustainable? How can we respond to customer demand for more transparency on environmental, social and economic aspects within our supply chain? Well, you just have to make a start, which is exactly what we did – in 2013! And today we are pioneers and role models within the industry thanks to EcoVadis and our Suppliers’ Code of Conduct.
The regular sustainability ratings provided by EcoVadis help our suppliers to continually improve – in the areas of the environment, working conditions, business conduct and the supply chain. But it isn’t just our suppliers who are improving – we are too. And to prove it, we were awarded the EcoVadis silver medal in 2021.
Together, we identify improvement potential and strive for trusting, transparent partnerships. This allows us to make sure that we’ve selected suppliers who are right for us – and right for you too. For example, as our customer, you’ll be working with carbon-neutral suppliers. And if this is one of the points in your own CSR strategy then it’s a win-win!
Climate-neutral delivery
As a mail order company, logistics is a central component of our business model. That’s why this is the area where we are investing in climate projects that fulfil the most stringent requirements. The result: all of our deliveries are climate-neutral. For example, our deliveries of individual items in Europe are offset via a climate project in Brazil that is certified according to the WWF’s gold standard. Our logistics partners also provide us with invaluable support in our efforts to protect the climate.
New logistics centre in Brno
In 2020, we opened a new logistics centre in Brno, Czech Republic. From this new site, the products you have ordered now reach you within 72 hours. More than 1,500 fast-moving items are stored here in an area of 8,700 square metres before being delivered to customers in Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Thanks to this new central site in Eastern Europe, we are now closer to you and your day-to-day needs, and are happy to be transporting our goods over shorter distances.
BREEAM certification at the Brno site
#BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the world’s leading method for assessing a building’s sustainability from an environmental and socio-cultural perspective. The new warehouse in Brno was awarded a BREEAM score of 59.9%, which is classed as “very good”. Highlights include LED lighting with movement sensors throughout the building, solar water heating and fast charging stations for electric cars.
Haan site has excellent energy efficiency
We promote sustainability at our plant in Haan. Thanks to the recent installation of an intelligent lighting system in our welding shop, we have been able to cut electricity consumption by up to 81%. And we're not the only ones who think this makes an outstanding contribution to sustainability. Our Haan plant was the recipient of the 2020 EnergieInnovationsPreis.NRW award for corporate digitalisation, which was awarded by the energy agency EnergieAgentur.NRW.

Why we’re always happy to do our bit for people and the planet
Local initiatives have a big impact: after all, it’s the staff on site who have the best idea of how the company could help the local community. So that’s exactly what we do: get active in local communities, by providing financial support and know-how, donating items, and being personally involved – for example in local charities and community groups, or by taking part in a marathon for a good cause.
Good for the climate: plant trees, get activeGREEN
In 2018, we partnered with PRIMAKLIMA to create a “company forest” consisting of 3,000 trees in Nicaragua. We’re thrilled that our customers support this initiative by purchasing from us, and that they opt for sustainable products.
Do it like Jan: join a Litter Pick
Jan Kleen shows us the way, and we join in: with professional equipment for his Litter Picks. And with plenty of help and support for our own Litter Picks and teams.
mybeachproject in the Seychelles: turning rubbish into art
Stefanie Wichmann is cleaning up the Seychelles: she collects plastic waste and other litter and recycles it in a creative way. We’re very happy to support her efforts – and to join in.
And what are you doing tomorrow?
How can we help you to get started with sustainability? Or to build on what you’re already doing at your company? Let us know – because only together can we create a brighter future.
