Rack base sump for the safe storage of hazardous materials
The rack base sump transforms existing racking systems into a resilient and legally compliant solution for the indoor storage of hazardous materials. Its sturdy construction made of 3 mm sheet steel offers reliable protection when storing flammable liquids and liquids hazardous to water.
The base sump is positioned beneath a racking system and safely catches escaping liquids. This allows drums, IBCs or CTCs, small containers and pallets to be neatly stored in the racking. The model has a declaration of conformity (ÜHP) in accordance with StawaR. It is approved for flammable liquids of GHS categories 1 to 3 as well as for liquids hazardous to water of GHS categories 1 to 4.
Depending on the model, the sump tray is supplied with or without a zinc plated grate. The grate creates a raised storage level and facilitates the clean, clearly arranged placement of containers. With a distributed load, the max. load is 1,000 kg/m². This also makes the tray shelf suitable for heavy drums and pallets.
The ground clearance of 100 mm enables the easy lifting and moving of the rack base sump using suitable lifting equipment. This facilitates installation and supports flexible adjustments in warehouse operations. At the same time, the area beneath the racking system remains easily accessible.
This product is ideal for retrofitting existing racking systems to create a legally compliant hazardous material store. The sump tray supports safe storage organisation and reduces the risk of escaping liquids spreading uncontrollably into the warehouse area.
