Long-term support for aircraft components
KLM Component Services
“Our collaboration with KLM goes back a long way. For more than 40 years, we have been working together on a wide variety of projects, based on mutual trust, quality and continuity. This project is yet another successful example of how a long-term partnership leads to solutions that meet current technical and sustainability requirements.”

The assignment
KLM Component Services, a leading provider of avionics component maintenance and repair services, is firmly committed to sustainable maintenance rather than replacement. This requires highly specialised workstations where sensitive aircraft components can be handled safely and efficiently. In October 2024, the go-ahead was given for a project designed to meet precisely these requirements – with state-of-the-art ESD workstations at its heart.
The challenge
Every day, the technicians work on tiny, delicate electronic components where even the slightest electrostatic discharge can cause damage. At the same time, the aim was to create a working environment that is ergonomic, safe and designed for long-term use. It was also important to support KLM’s sustainability strategy: repair rather than replace – and to do so to the highest technical standards.
The solution
High-quality Treston ESD workbenches were used, which are precisely tailored to the requirements of sensitive maintenance work. The ESD-safe equipment provides reliable protection against electrostatic discharge and creates the ideal conditions for precision work. At the same time, well-designed ergonomics and functionality ensure efficient workflows in day-to-day operations.
The outcome
A modern working environment that combines safety, efficiency and sustainability. The new ESD workstations form the heart of day-to-day operations and help technicians carry out high-quality repairs with reliability. The project, completed in December 2025, is yet another example of our successful collaboration with KLM spanning over 40 years – and of how long-term partnerships give rise to innovative and sustainable solutions.
