These super-absorbent flat bags swell upon contact with water and transform into a solid, heavy barrier that quickly contains and diverts floods. With their length of 66 cm, they replace classic sandbags and can be stacked to form a stable retaining wall to reliably protect vulnerable areas. Before activation, the bags are particularly lightweight, compact, and clean to handle – in contrast to conventional sandbags, which are heavy, messy, and labour-intensive. For additional protection, the flat bags can be stacked in up to three layers and placed offset; in a pyramid shape, even higher, particularly resilient barriers can be created.
