Battery safety storage cabinet SiS Li-Ion 90 Safe Pro – LaCont with fire suppression system

The LaCont Battery Cabinet LI-ION SAFE PRO was specifically developed for the passive storage of lithium batteries, with GS certification according to test principle EK5 / AK4 22-01 and a real fire test of the cabinet equipped with lithium batteries carried out at MPA Dresden.

Due to the increased requirements of the GS test, the LI-ION SAFE PRO has a tested fire resistance of 90 minutes according to DIN EN14470-1/-2 from outside to inside and 90 minutes according to DIN EN 1363-1/-2 from inside to outside. The self-closing doors are additionally permanently function-tested according to DIN EN 16121 and DIN EN 16122.

By means of all-round, automatically foaming fire protection seals in case of fire and permanently self-closing doors, the LI-ION SAFE PRO not only protects against fires inside the cabinet, but also protects your stored goods from fires from outside. The danger to persons from the possible release of explosively burning or toxic gases and smoke is to be minimized. The aim here is to gain time for the evacuation of persons in the vicinity and the initiation of extinguishing measures by the fire brigade.

Further standard equipment includes an integrated ventilation system to prevent heat build-up in the cabinet, a 5-liter sump tray made of sheet steel and manufactured according to AwSV, 4 height-adjustable grate storage levels with a max. load of 75 kg each (with evenly distributed load), as well as a plinth with a cover that can be driven under for easy transport.

The control unit included in the scope of delivery with optical and acoustic status notification as well as fire detector, monitors the storage process of the Li-ion batteries. In case of fire detection inside the cabinet, the power supply and the integrated ventilation are completely shut down, whereby an optical and acoustic alarm is triggered. Via a potential-free contact, it is possible to forward signals to a control center.

Construction from non-combustible material including coating (body in aluminum color / doors RAL 1023 – traffic yellow), base sump made of zinc plated sheet steel according to AwSV, 5 liters sump capacity.
Automatically closing doors, permanently function-tested according to DIN EN 16121 and DIN EN 16122. Double doors with central stile, lockable via profile cylinder lock.

Control unit of the SiS Li-Ion 90 Safe Pro:

– In case of smoke detection inside the cabinet, the power supply and the integrated ventilation are completely shut down
– In case of fire detection, an optical and acoustic alarm is triggered
– Optical status display informs about the current status of the cabinet (fire detection, ventilation unit, power strips)
– Includes potential-free contact for signal forwarding (e.g., to a control center)
– Optional GSM module for remote monitoring and alarming on request
– Rated voltage 230 V (400 V on request)

With fire suppression system (aerosol extinguishing generator), with power-independent activation in the event of fire or an excessive temperature increase from 180 °C.
How it works: The activation of the solid material contained in the extinguishing generator creates an aerosol of solid and gaseous particles. These spread throughout the entire cabinet in milliseconds, displacing oxygen, diluting flammable gases, and starting the extinguishing process. Thus, the aerosol intervenes in the chemical chain reaction of the fire process by displacing oxygen, among other things, and interrupts it. If the fire suppression system is not activated, the maintenance-free service life is 10 years.
